Will the makers of Gypsy bow down to Censor Board of Film Certification?
The Censor Board has suggested quite a few cuts in Jiiva-Raju Murugan’s Gypsy as it feels that a few scenes featuring Lal Jose take a dig at UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has suggested the makers of Gypsy as many as 10 cuts in the film that takes a dig at Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The film is said to have spoken on issues pertaining to Uttar Pradesh under his leadership. A source close to the film’s unit said, “It is not the end of the road. We have now approached Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) and the film will be cleared without anymajor cuts.”
When contacted, an official in the Censor Board told us that they are not in a position to comment as a new Regional Officer will be appointed next month. On resolving the issue, the film will hit the screens by the end of this year. The film stars Jiiva and Natasha Singh in lead roles. Director Lal Jose plays the antagonist in the film while Malayalam actor Sunny Wayne will be seen in a pivotal role.
The film is bankrolled by Ambeth Kumar under his banner Olympia Movies. Santosh Narayan has composed the musicand Sathyan Sooryan isthe cinematographer.
