Gautham Menon likely to direct the Tamil remake of Andhadhun
Post the success of Bollywood thriller Andhadhun, which even bagged three awards at the 66th edition of National Awards, speculations were rife that Dhanush or Siddharth would reprise Ayushmann Khurrana’s role in the Tamil remake of the film.
Chennai
However, director Thiagarajan surprised the audience with an announcement that he has bagged the remake rights of the film and will cast his son Prashanth in the lead role. The latest we hear is that acclaimed-filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon has been roped in to direct the Tamil version of the film.
When DT Next contact Thiagarajan, he said, “It’s true that we are in talks with Gautham Menon. However, he is yet to sign the project officially. We will come up with an announcement once things get finalised.” There are rumours that the makers are also planning to rope in actress Tabu, who was part of the original. Ask him about it, he says, “Tabu is not in the remake. The female leads will be finalised soon.” It is also worth noting that Prashanth is a trained piano player and his skills should come in handy to play the role of the protagonist in Andhadhun, who is a blind piano player. The actor is also working on another film which will be directed by A Venkatesh.
