Vadivelu to act in Shankar’s upcoming projects for free

Vadivelu’s sequel to 23aam Pulikesi, helmed by Chimbudevan and produced by Shankar, has been in the can for the last 18 months. Vadivelu, who plays the titular role, had opted out of it citing creative differences with director Chimbudevan and producer Shankar. The team incurred a huge loss after erecting grand sets on the outskirts of the city. Shankar approached Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council (TFPC) to solve this issue. The good news is that the issue between Shankar and Vadivelu has been amicably sorted out. However, 24aam Pulikesi has been permanently shelved. A source in the know of things told DTNext, “Vadivelu will be a part of Shankar’s future projects and will act in his films without remuneration until he compensates the loss incurred because of 24aam Pulikesi. Further, thousands of junior artistes and other character artistes had given bulk dates last year for the film. They went waste because of Vadivelu’s negligence.”

The source also denied rumours that the comedian will be a part of Indian 2, which will resume in the third week of August. The ace comedian was last seen in Vijay’s Mersal, directed by Atlee.
