Soori to play the lead in Vetri Maaran’s next
Speculation is rife that Soori will make his debut as hero in a film helmed by Vetri Maaran post his Asuran.
Chennai
Soori’s career has grown leaps and bounds, especially after his six-pack pictures that took the internet by storm last year.
The actor, with his choice of roles in Kadaikutty Singam and Devarattam, sent out a message that he hasn’t restricted himself to comic roles.
It looks like Soori’s efforts have borne fruit. Reports in tinseltown say that the actor will be playing the lead in National-award winning director Vetri Maaran’s upcoming film.
Soori was unavailable to comment on this development but a source in the know told DT Next, “The project is in its early stages and Soori will be playing the lead.
The story is set in the backdrop of Madurai and will go on floors later this year. Elred Kumar will be bankrolling the project under his banner RS Infotainment and GV Prakash is in talks to compose the music.”
Post Vetri Maaran-Soori project, the director will begin shooting for Vada Chennai 2. On the workfront, Soori is currently shooting for Vijay Sethupathi’s Sanga Thamizhan in Karaikudi.
