Sethupathi to play Muttiah Muralitharan in 800?

“Titled 800, the film is a biopic on ace Sri Lankan spin bowler Muttiah Muralitharan. The film will be shot across India, Sri Lanka and Australia and an official announcement on the project will be made soon. The film is all set to go on floors in December this year,” said one of the sources. The source also added that Vijay Sethupathi will be attending cricketing coaching sessions to perfect the arm action of Murali starting from September.

After MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar and Mohammad Azharuddin, this will be yet another biopic made on a cricketer. Moreover, several other biopics like Sanju, Mary Kom, Azar and Dangal were made in B’wood. Similarly, Tamil and Telugu cinema had their share of success with biopics like Mahanati. On the work front Sethu’s last release Sindhubaadh was a box-office disaster. His next release will be Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. The story is based on the life of freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy from Rayalaseema. It is a trilingual film which will be released in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.
