‘I don’t wish to be a hero material’

Talking about the film’s success, he says, “I am not sure if Igloo would have reached a wide section of audience even if it had a theatrical release. It’s been only a few days since its release and the response is huge. Igloo has emotions that every individual can connect with.”

Ask him about making his debut on the digital space, he says, “Igloo was released as a short film five years ago. As many loved the content, the director and I pitched it to many producers in the industry. However, they hesitated to make this film as they felt that the film has no commercial elements. That’s when I decided to pitch this project to OTT Platforms like ZEE5. They introduced us to Drumstick Productions and that’s how things fell in place.” He adds, “When I was trying for acting opportunities, there were no such platforms to showcase my skills. But now, things are different. OTT Platforms is the right place for actors, who are longing to make it big in cinema for years.”

Talking about the content of the film, he says, “It’s a pure love story with a strong emotional connect. Igloo is about a guy who loses his dear one all of a sudden and struggles to move further in life. My character is very complicated and goes through a lot of transformations.” On his upcoming projects, he says, “I am waiting for the release of Iravaakaalam, in which I have shared screenspace with SJ Suryah. I am also a part of Karthi’s upcoming film Kaithi, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.” He adds, “ I don’t wish to be a hero material. Be it digital or feature film, I want to be a part of quality content that creates an impact with the audience.”
