Will Ajith’s Nerkonda Paarvai incur a loss?

Ajith’s Nerkonda Paarvai, the official Tamil remake of Pink, produced by Boney Kapoor and directed by H Vinod, is all set to hit the screens soon. Prior to its release, rumours have surfaced that the film hasn’t fared well in its pre-release business. An office-bearer from the Tamil Nadu distributors and exhibitors’ association told DTNext, “So far there are no buyers for Ajith’s film as he plays an extended cameo in Nerkonda Paarvai just like Amitabh Bachchan sir in Pink. Moreover, the industry is currently going through a rough patch where people aren’t willing to pool in money to release the star’s films. We will have to wait and watch, who comes forward to release this film.”

When we contacted Ajith’s spokesperson, he told us, “We are aware of rumours that have been revolving around the business of Nerkonda Paarvai. We would like to clarify that there is no truth to it. An official announcement on the film’s release will be made in a couple of days.” The film was initially to release on August 10, but the makers are aiming to release the movie on August 1, preponing the release by 10 days. However, we will have to wait for the official announcement

In an earlier interview to DTNext, Vinod had told us that he will be directing Ajith’s next too, which is touted to be a heist thriller. Ghibran might compose music for this film.
