‘Nagarjuna made me feel comfortable on the sets’

Talking about the film to DT Next, the actress said, “What more do I need than a debut with Nagarjuna? I always used to think that he is hot, and any girl would easily fall for his good looks. But only after I met him I understood how good he is as a person and started developing a huge respect for him. He makes you feel so comfortable on the sets and helps you out in all ways.” 

Rumours are that Akshara Gowda plays an NRI in the film and she also has a liplock scene with Nagarjuna. Ask about it she says, “I can’t reveal anything about my character as it’s too early. All I can say is that my portions were shot in Portugal and my character is a stylish one.” Akshara can’t stop raving about her co-star Vennila Kishore. “Oh my god! I had a gala time with him. He kept cracking jokes and made sure that I was happy throughout the shoot. My portions are already shot and the film is almost nearing post production. The makers are planning to release it either by July or August.”

The actress also reveals to us that she is shooting for a web series in Hindi. “I am doing a series for Viacom media. I have also signed a project in Kannada with a leading actor. The details will be out in the coming weeks.” Ask her the reason for not signing any Tamil films of late, she says, “Not at all. Many filmmakers are approaching me for either cop roles or negative shade roles, which I have done a couple of times. I am looking to play characters that portray me in a different light.”

Akshara Gowda was earlier roped in to play the lead in an animation film titled Kizhakku Africavil Raju, which will have MGR as the protagonist. Talking about it, she says, “I was supposed to shoot for this film in January. But I think the shoot got postponed due to technical issues. It’s a huge project, and the pre-production work itself will take time. I am waiting for the call from the production house,” she concludes.
