In an interview to DT Next, director Rajdeep says, “Asura Guru will be an interesting heist thriller, a genre which is rarely explored in Tamil cinema. Vikram Prabhu will be seen playing the role of a con-man, who steals money from corrupt people and the government.” He also reveals us that the film will have a triangular plot, as it revolves around three characters.
“Apart from Vikram Prabhu, there are two other roles which play a crucial part in the film. One is the role of an IPS officer, played by Subburaj of Baahubali fame and another the role of a private detective, played by Mahima Nambiar. Both these characters go in search of Vikram Prabhu and learn what he is upto. I am sure the story will create an impact with the audience, as it’s something new.” Elaborating more on Mahima Nambiar’s character, he said, “She attended workshops for a period of three months to prepare for her role. She learnt archery, bike riding and adventure sports to lend authenticity to her character. Vikram Prabhu’s character, too, was not easy to perfrom. His intro scene in the film was shot without a body-double on a moving train.” He adds, “The film is currently under post production and we are planning to release it very soon.” Rajdeep might do another film for JSB Sathish, as they are impressed with the film’s output. “It’s too early to talk about it. But the script is ready, and I am happy that they have shown interest to produce my second film as well.”
