Superstar, Karthik Subbaraj to team up post Darbar as well?

The latest we hear from Rajini’s camp is that the actor is all set to join hands for the second time with Karthik Subbaraj after Petta. “Karthik had narrated a one-liner to Superstar recently, which has impressed him. Rajini asked him to develop the story and give him a narration. The narration took place before Darbar and Thalaivar is quite impressed with the script. So, it looks like he has given the nod for the project,” a source said.

Meanwhile, Darbar is said to be a film that will have a socially-relevant theme to it. “He plays a retired police officer, who resumes duty from his retirement and fights for a social cause,” the source added.

After two decades, Rajinikanth had two releases in 2018 with Kaala and 2.0. Superstar is all set to do an encore of it in 2020, if things fall in place for his project with Karthik Subbaraj and hit the screens for Deepavali next year and with Darbar already locking the release date for Pongal 2020.
