Its spb’s voice once again for darbar title song

Superstar Rajinikanth’s movies are always special for its title card and the intro song. Be it Vandhen Da Paalkaaran in Annamalai or Oruvan Oruvan Mudhalaali in Muthu, the songs that have come out in SPB-Rajini combination are evergreen chartbusters. Rajini’s previous film Petta also had SPB sing for him in the intro song Marana Mass, but only a couple of lines. However, in Darbar, the intro song has been completely crooned by ace singer SP Balasubhramanyam. “The song will be both melodic and peppy like Oruvan Oruvan Mudhalaali. He is the only singer of the quirky number unlike Marana Mass that had Anirudh singing most of the song,” a source in the know told DT Next. Speculations were rife that Rajini plays a dual role in the film. However, the souce denied it.

Team Darbar has completed the first schedule in Mumbai. Superstar Rajinikanth has returned to Chennai to spend time with his family before he resumes shooting for the second schedule on May 29. Darbar is a story that deals with a social issue and will have Superstar Rajinikanth playing an IPS officer.

Produced by Lyca, Darbar has Nayanthara playing the female lead. Santhosh Sivan is the cinematographer and editing will be done by Sreekar Prasad. The film will hit the screens on Pongal 2020.
