Acclaimed director Mani Ratnam is reviving his dream project Ponniyin Selvan, under his home banner Madras Talkies. He has already finalised actors like Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Keerthy Suresh and Karthi for the project and also in talks with a big production house to co-produce the film.
The latest update is that actor Aadhi Pinnisetty, who was last seen playing a role of a cop in Samantha’s U-Turn, might be roped in to play a major role in the film. A source says, “It’s true that Aadhi has been approached by the makers of Ponniyin Selvan. However, the actor is yet to sign on the agreement officially. It’s too ealy to talk about it.”
We also hear that Mani Ratnam had already begun the pre-production works of the film and rehearsals for the actors will begin from the first week of August. Ponniyin Selvan is the epic novel written by Amarar Kalki, a popular fiction writer in Tamil. The story is about king Raja Raja Cholan.
