Ather Energy opens new experience store centre in Madurai

CHENNAI: E-scooter makers Ather Energy on Friday inaugurated its first Experience Centre - Ather Space, at Alavai Nagar in Madurai as part of its expansion plans in Tamil Nadu.

The opening of Ather Space, in association with ARC Group, is driven by the company’s aims to fulfil the rising demand and make EVs mainstream in the country.

The new Experience Centre will retail the all-new Gen 3 of Ather 450X and the 450 Plus. Its chief business officer Ravneet Singh Phokela said “Tamil Nadu is one of the largest markets for Ather Energy, with a high rate of EV adoption.”

“We have been receiving a great response from our five retail outlets in Tamil Nadu. The launch of the new and upgraded Gen-3 450 platform has generated increased interest among a wider range of consumers in the state”, he said.

Highlighting the company’s long history with Tamil Nadu, he said in 2019, Ather opened its first Experience Centre in Chennai and in 2021, the brand started its operations at the Hosur manufacturing facility, catering to demand from across the country.

Ather Energy is one of the few OEMs that also invest in the charging infrastructure. The company has already installed three fast charging points, Ather Grid in Madurai and plans to add eight to 10 more across the city to strengthen the charging network.

Currently, Ather Energy has installed 500-plus Ather Grids across the country.

The ex-showroom price post the Fame II revision for the new Ather 450X is Rs 1,58,872 and Rs 1,37,362 for the Ather 450 Plus in Madurai.
