City-based garment firm bags award

The event was held in Madras Management Association where Start Smart Awards recognised the brand’s growth. Start Smart Awards 2018 is an initiative by National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog and the Centre. The aim is to recognise the top three start-ups each from four zones of India. The award ceremonies of the four zones were held in Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi respectively. 

The purpose is to encourage start-ups to follow smart business practices, be compliance friendly and be updated with regulations and schemes which affects them. Dumbell was selected among thousands of startups from the south, based on different criteria. The award was given away by CK Kumaravel, Founder, Naturals Saloon to Dumbell founder Abishek Rengasamy.  

The brand is available across six outlets in Chennai. It is seeking to provide international standard clothing at an affordable price, making it an attractive clothing brands in the country. Founded in 2012, its parent company, A Square Garments, has grown to become the exclusive distributor (Tamil Nadu and Andaman region) for several global and domestic brands. A Square Garments also supplies to various leading multi brand outlets across the region.
