Toyota, Sriram Polytechnic ink pact for tech skills
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) announced its fifth institutional tie-up in Tamil Nadu with the launch of its training model Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) Service Advisor category, at the Sriram Polytechnic College here.

Aimed at generating talented and technically skilled professionals for the automobile industry in Chennai, the first TTEP program in the state was established under General Technical category in 2006 in collaboration with MC Jain Industrial Training Center.
This initiative by Toyota represents the incessant efforts taken by the company to bridge the skill gap that exists by developing trained personnel to meet the ever-increasing demand of the emerging industry for skilled resources. This association provided a platform to Sriram Polytechnic College to train and equip their students with the best knowledge to thrive and succeed in the industry as professionals towards achieving employability status.
Grundfos India, SVRCC inaugurate plumbing lab
Located at Keezhputhupattu village bordering Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Swami Vivekananda Rural Community College (SVRCC) recently upgraded their plumbing lab, with the financial aid from Grundfos India.
Ranganath NK, MD, Grundfos India along with GV Subramaniam, Founder, SVRCC inaugurated the lab. In June 2014, Grundfos India helped SVRCC set up the plumbing workshop. Since then with the ever-increasing demand for plumbing technicians in the country, the Grundfos sponsored the six-month ‘Plumbing Technician’ course has become one of the most sought-after courses. The enrolment for this course has since doubled to 80 students and is further expected to rise to 120 students in FY 201920. “Since its launch, this plumbing course has empowered so many of our youth to become skilled plumbers in the country”, said Ranganath.
