India continued to be the top source market for visitor arrivals in the cruise segment for Singapore with 1,27,000 cruise passengers from India sailing out of Singapore’s shores in 2017.

The growth in travellers is due to STB’s several initiatives to deepen its position in India, including its association with the Bollywood, participation in cruise forums and travel trade events, partnerships with airlines, launch of the vegetarian food guide among others, a statement said.

“India has been a very important source market for us and we have been steadily engaging travellers through partnerships and various marketing initiatives.

Last year, India moved up a spot to become the third largest source market for Singapore in terms of visitor arrivals,” STB’s International Group Regional Director, South Asia, Middle East and Africa, G B Srithar said.

STB is working closely with both Indian and Singaporean travel trade partners to continue the momentum and entice more Indian travellers to come, enjoy Singapore’s offerings, he added.
