Nifty ends above 10,550-mark, up 39 points on global cues
The market breadth, indicating its overall health, was in favour of gainers. On the NSE, 999 stocks advanced, 805 declined and 76 remained unchanged. Total securities that hit their price bands were 189.

The NSE Nifty rebounded by 39 points to finish at 10,565.30 today following fresh buying in metal, IT, infra, realty, media, FMCG and pharma sectors.
Investors sentiment was optimistic ahead of quarterly earnings of some key companies, including TCS.
Metal and mining stocks were in demand as copper prices rose in global commodity markets, but the sharp correction in oil retailers capped the upside.
Overseas, most European shares rose as soaring oil prices triggered a broader rally across commodities.
Asian stocks rose, building on gains a day earlier, with oil prices at three-and-a-half year highs.
The broader Nifty 50 index rose 39.10 points or 0.37 per cent to end at 10,565.30, its highest closing level since February 26, 2018, after moving in a range of 10,572.20 and 10,546.20.
It witnessed an intra-day movement of about 26 points. Sector-wise, Metal climbed by 4.52 per cent, followed by IT 1.14 per cent, Infra 1.01 per cent, Realty 0.64 per cent,
Media 0.56 per cent, FMCG 0.56 per cent, Pharma 0.45 per cent, Auto 0.17 per cent, PSU bank 0.11 per cent, Bank 0.10 per cent, and Private Bank 0.05 per cent.
On the other hand, Energy and Finance Service fell by 0.38 per cent and 0.24 percent, respectively.
Major index gainers were Hindalco, Vedanta, Tata Steel, Yes Bank, Bharti Airtel, Ultratech Cement, HCL Tech and GAIL.
The losers were BPCL, HPCL, IOC, Titan, Axis Bank, HDFC, Bajaj Finance, Hero MotoCorp, Coal India and NTPC.

Turnover in the cash segment rose to Rs 30,728.60 crore from Rs 28,009.66 crore as on Wednesday.
A total of 14,674.33 lakh shares changed hands in 1,05,03,298 trades. The market capitalisation of listed firms on NSE stood at Rs 1,48,30,739.84 crore.
