Tractor Co logs 154 per cent growth in Tamil Nadu
International Tractors Limited (ITL), the makers of Sonalika Tractors, plans to expand its presence in the domestic market with a strong focus on the Southern region. While at present, it has 29 authorized dealers in Tamil Nadu, the aim is to ramp up the reach to 50 dealers across the state by next year.

The company recently launched its new and advanced tractor series Sikander in Chennai. The tractors are available across the 35-90 HP categories and are being pitched for their minimal fuel consumption which will aid farmers achieve high productivity at reduced operational cost.
Mudit Gupta, President, Commercial & Strategic Alliances, Sonalika ITL, said, “We have registered 100% growth in the last two fiscals. Our growth in January 2018 has been 154% in TN and the major boost was during Pongal. Overall the company has registered 45 % growth pan-India in January 2018.”
Considering the opportunity in TN, the company, which has built an integrated tractor manufacturing plant in Hoshiarpur, has set up one skill centre in the state to empower youth and farmers by providing agriculture related skills such as technological advancement in farming, farm mechanisation, along with imparting awareness programmes.
