South Korea's Q4 GDP falls by 0.2 percent on-quarter, misses forecast
South Korea's economy contracted in the fourth quarter of 2017 from the July to September period on a strong base effect, while construction investment that had supported growth lost momentum towards the year-end.

Gross domestic product decreased by a seasonally adjusted 0.2 percent in the fourth quarter, the Bank of Korea said on Thursday, slowing from a bumper growth of 1.5 percent growth in the third quarter, which was the fastest expansion in seven years.
Annual growth slowed to 3.0 percent from 3.8 percent in the third quarter.
Exports contracted by 5.4 percent on-quarter, while facilities investment decreased by 0.6 percent, the estimates showed.
Construction investment fell by 3.8 percent from three months earlier.
