The study points out that with more companies wanting to increase their digital presence, there is a visible surge in job searches for digital marketing jobs, with core technology opportunities in the domains of Machine Learning, Data scientist and Data analytics being the hot favourites. “Digital media is something that youngsters connect with and they are looking forward to a career in that. There are a number of start-ups that focus on the digital space and the popularity is set to only grow in the future,” adds Sudharshan.
Despite rapid changes in the job market, people are still looking for government jobs. According to the study, job seekers in the country incline towards public sector jobs. The thrust of ‘Make in India ‘ and other progressive initiatives put forward by the Central government has led to an increasing amount of interest in government jobs, rather than technology companies.
The study also suggests growth in Ayurveda in the pharma sector with respect to job searches. Sashi Kumar, Managing Director, Indeed India said, “Job seeking patterns carry a wealth of insights that cast light on broader social trends. While flexibility remains a priority for most job aspirants globally, the inclination of our workforce towards Ayurveda and public sector jobs signify the impact of socio-economic developments on the job market and people’s preferences.”
