China July industrial profits up 16.5 per cent
Profits earned by China's industrial companies in July rose 16.5 per cent from a year earlier, slower than the previous month, the statistics bureau said on Sunday.

Industrial profits increased 21.2 percent in the first seven months of 2017 from the same period last year, versus a 22.0 per cent rise in January-June. Earnings grew an annual 19.1 per cent in June.
Total profits in July rose to 612.7 billion yuan, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on its website.
At the end of July, industrial firms' liabilities were 6.6 percent higher than a year earlier, compared with a 6.4 per cent increase at the end of June.
The data covers large companies with annual revenue of more than 20 million yuan from their main operations.Â
