Fresh ISP entrant to focus on rural Tamil Nadu

The Department of Telecom (DoT) in-line with Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) approved the MVNO Licensing process during March 2016 for India. Following this, Adpay Mobile Payment (P) Ltd which owns Aerovoyce, became one of the first firms to receive the MVNO license. 

This enables the brand to compete with existing mobile operators, but with spectrum sharing as MVNO. 

The company’s offerings include Mobile Voice/Data SIM Cards, Mobile Internet (SIM), Broadband/ Fiber internet, pan India. The firm’s operations will be expanded quickly to all parts of Tamil Nadu in a phased manner with a target of 1 lakh customers in three months. 

Sivakumar Kuppusamy, founder and CEO, said the company plans to enter rural areas with its broadband and Fibernet services within a quarter. The company plans to invest Rs 300 crore in telecom services over the next three years.

“We will focus on townships and rural areas that have a population of 10,000-50,000. Right now, we are looking at regions around Kanyakumari, Cuddalore, Coimbatore, Thanjavur and Salem.”
