Amazon’s grocery service debuts in Chennai
Online marketplace Amazon launched its grocery and household service, Amazon Pantry here on Monday.

Using Amazon Pantry, customers in Chennai can shop for over 4,000 everyday essentials from over 250 brands of groceries and household products. Amazon Pantry will make its service available in 29 Indian cities.
Customers can build a basket and have all the products delivered in a single box at their doorstep the following day. The service also offers some selection to customers which is specific to Pantry. The online store offers essentials ranging across staples, including regional brands specific for the relevant cities, in different categories.
The service would be chargeable on a per box basis. Saurabh Srivastava, Director Category Management FMCG, Amazon India said, “We are working towards making e-com a daily habit for consumers. Chennai is one of the key markets for us and with Amazon Pantry, customers can conveniently shop for grocery and household products without having to spend time in travel.”
