260-acre North Chennai industrial park soon

Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited (MLDL) is the real estate and infrastructure development arm of the Mahindra Group. According to company officials, the state support agreement for this project was signed during the Global Investors Meet in Chennai, in 2015.

Presently, the last set of approvals are being sought and the project will be officially launched, once they come through. The industrial cluster is located near Ponneri, in Thiruvallur district. In Phase 1, an area of 250 acres has been earmarked for development. The company is eyeing a similar expansion in Phase 2. The firm is targeting companies working in sectors like engineering, automotive and food processing among others to set their base camp on the new premises. 

The Company has also acquired approximately 268.70 acres near Ahmedabad, Gujarat for its second industrial cluster and has entered into an MoU with the land owners for acquiring adjoining lands. Furthermore, an MoU has been entered into between the Government of Gujarat and one of the firm’s subsidiary in January 2017 for the establishment of the said industrial cluster in Gujarat in a time bound manner. 

Both industrial cluster projects by Mahindra World City are being planned to provide core physical infrastructure including roads, power, data and telecom connectivity, water and waste management networks, in-house professional operations and maintenance services and sustainable infrastructure, to provide businesses hassle-free and efficient operations. It is in various stages of approval and the company is waiting for them to come through. These developments were revealed on the sidelines of the launch of Aqualily Flexi-homes, by MLDL.
