CHENNAI: The BJP’s Tamil Nadu unit is likely to organise a state-wide protest on October 27 condemning the DMK government for trying to script an epilogue for Tamil language, according to party’s State president K Annamalai.

“We will organise a massive protest in all district headquarters to condemn the ruling government’s attempt to script an endnote to the mother tongue, Tamil language,” Annamalai tweeted.

He continued that they would expose the “hypocritical drama” of the ruling government in the state to the public.

The party is organising the protest as the fallout of the State government's strong response to Union Minister Amit Shah-led panel on official language recommendations that the medium of instruction in all Central educational institutions should be in Hindi language.

The Tamil Nadu state Assembly passed a resolution against this on Tuesday. Ousted AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam has also extended the support to the resolution and said he endorse “on behalf of AIADMK”.

BJP’s alliance party PMK has also extended its support to this resolution.
