CHENNAI: R Selvi, mother of the victim in the Kallakurichi school incident has filed a complaint with the Director General of Police seeking action against a YouTuber, who allegedly indulged in character assassination of the woman.

The social media trial since the death of the 17-year-old girl’s death within the school premises have swayed to both spectrums and several YouTube channels have been pulled up by investigative agencies for peddling theories.

Selvi, in her complaint stated that a YouTuber, Kaarthik R Pillai, had uploaded videos defaming her character, sharing details of her personal life.

Speaking to media persons after filing the complaint, Selvi said that the Youtuber, who runs a channel in the name of ‘The K TV’ had made comments on Selvi’s personal life and inferred that it was what drove her daughter to death.

“Our family has been in mental agony,” the woman stated in her complaint and sought for police action against the YouTuber and block his channel and delete the videos.

“We still believe that our daughter was murdered. While the High Court has issued that my daughter killed herself, the evidences that are in the school speak otherwise,” said Selvi seeking police further investigation into the case.
