TN BJP won't allow Hindi imposition in State: Annamalai

“Tamil Nadu BJP won’t allow Hindi imposition in the state. BJP will be proud if Tamil will be a link language in our country. If we want it, the Tamil Nadu government should write to all other states and ask 10 Tamil schools in those states. If it’s done, BJP will welcome it,” said K Annamalai, TN BJP chief.

Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai on Tuesday stated that Tamil Nadu BJP won't allow Hindi imposition in the State and that BJP would be proud if Tamil will be a link language in our country.

This statement came after, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday made a remark that "Hindi should be an alternative to English and not other local languages".

Several political parties have expressed strong criticism over accepting Hindi as an alternative to English statement from the Home Minister, including Oscar award-winning composer AR Rahman who said 'Tamil is the uniting language' and the TN CM MK Stalin who alleged that the BJP is always attempting to destroy India’s 'pluralistic identity.'
