The minor girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and electrocuted last year at her home in Kurumbapatti village in Dindigul, and so far, one person is arrested in connection with the incident. He was acquitted recently. Law Minister C Ve Shanmugam described the alleged sexual assault and killing of the girl as "heinous".

Aloor Sha Navas has been actively Tweeting updates about his case on his social media space. Chinmayi Sripada, who has been an active celebrity to raise her voice against sexual assault against women, slammed Aloor Sha saying that he was using the case for his own political gains.

Sha Nawas replied that it was a political vendetta against Vairamuthu by right winged parties and he always believe that law will have its course of action if the allegations are true.

For the unversed, singer Chinmayi made sexual allegations on Lyricist Vairamuthu last year filed a formal complaint against him with National Council for Women (NCW). Aloor Sha Nawas questioned her intentions in the case.
