In Kerala's Kozhikode district, students from Perambra arts college, conducted student union election campaign a few days ago. While conducting the campaign, the students carried a flag which resembled the flag of Pakistan. The students belonged to the Muslim group of Indian Union Muslim League party.

The video of the students holding the flag became viral in the social media, which soon led to police’s attention towards the issue. The police filed cases against 30 students who indulged in the act. The college administration also suspended 6 students regarding the issue.

On verifying the legitimacy of the video, it was found that the flag actually belonged to the MSF (Muslim Students Front) party. The origin of the issue is attributed to the mistake of the tailor who stitched the flag. The unequal proportions of white and green colors in the flag created confusions.
