Female worker at Tiruvallur Aavin factory killed after hair gets caught in machine

Uma Rani's head got severed after her hair got ensnared in a machine at the Tiruvallur factory.

CHENNAI: A woman working at the Aavin dairy factory in Kakalur, Tiruvallur died in a tragic accident on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Uma Rani (30), a contract worker, who has two children.

The incident occured when she was loading milk packets on a machine and her hair got stuck in it, causing her head to be severed. She died on the spot, police said.

The incident has sent shockwaves among the workers and locals.

An investigation into the incident is on.
