Ravikumar met top officials of the NLC and submitted a memorandum demanding NLC to allocate CSR funds for development of towns and villages in his constituency.

“I request the NLC to construct sufficient classrooms and usable toilets in all government and government aided schools of Ulundurpet taluk,” said Ravikumar in the letter submitted to the NLC officials.

He also demanded the NLC to setup health related amenities in government hospitals in Villupuram district.

“Facilities like X-ray machines, ECG and emergency wards may be provided to the existing primary health care centres and government hospital in Ulundurpet taluk. Eye care and cardiac care centres may also be setup,” said Ravikumar.

He also said that since Villupuram has high incidence of cancer and kidney ailments, special care to these patients is required and so dialysis machines can be installed in these hospitals.

Recently, Ravikumar raised the question on the details of CSR spending of the NLC in Rajya Sabha and he was informed by the Minister concerned that NLC has spent Rs 43.59 crore CSR fund for healthcare, education, welfare of SC/STs and OBCs, for the year 2017-18, and based on the details he has sought help from NLC for his constituency.
