CHENNAI: With the 2026 Assembly elections in sight, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) convened a key meeting with its district secretaries on Friday to chart the party’s groundwork, including an expansion of its booth committees across the state.

The meeting at the party headquarters in Panaiyur was chaired by TVK general secretary N Anand.

Although party president and actor-turned-politician Vijay was expected to preside over the discussions, he was absent due to other commitments. The deliberations focused on the formation and strengthening of booth-level committees to bolster grassroots presence, insiders said.
