CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu School Education Department has announced a five-day holiday for schools, starting from Bhogi festival on January 14, in view of the Pongal festival.

All schools in Tamil Nadu, including government, aided schools, and private schools, will remain closed for five days from January 14 to January 18, said a Daily Thanthi report.

Schools will resume regular functioning on January 19 (Monday). The School Education Department stated that the order was issued based on the instructions by Chief Minister MK Stalin.
