State Election Commissioner Satyabrata Sahoo briefed the press on Tamil Nadu's infrastructure to house EVM machines. Barring Chennai and Madurai, in all the other 30 districts the state government pumped Rs 120.87 crores for godowns to store the machines, he said.
For Chennai and Madurai Rs 7.16 crores and 6.19 crores have been allotted for this purpose.
With the state heading for elections in April, godowns in Dharmapuri, Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, Theni, Villupuram and Namakkal are in made ready. Other than this, 31 more godowns will be available from March, he added.
On the voters list front, the Election Commission is on the last leg of preparing the final list.
