CHENNAI: To set up new centres for higher secondary examinations, the Directorate of Government Examination has ordered all district Chief Educational Officers (CEOs) to get proposals from schools across Tamil Nadu before October 27.
The circular by the Directorate stated that the new centres are being created for the academic year 2022-23 in all government schools for students travelling more than 10 km to write exams.
Additionally, the joint director in the circular insisted CEOs to inspect all the schools named in the proposal and if the official is unable to find any new centres, a report on the same should also be sent.
Subsequently, if ineligible schools are sent to the directorate, the official concerned will be recommended for action, noted the circular.
Meanwhile, those schools which were allowed to act as higher secondary examination centres in 2022 can reapply if they still meet the required criteria by the Directorate.
CEOs have also been asked to send reports on centres that need to be cancelled along with the reasons and details of centres operating as per the High Court order.
