Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami announced that he has volunteered to donate his eyes in the light of National Eye Donation Day, which is celebrated on Tuesday across the country.

September 8 is being celebrated as the National Eye Donation Day in India since 1985.

Acknowledging the day, the Chief Minister signed the form for eye donation.

This gesture was believed to encourage people of Tamil Nadu to donate eyes.
