The Directorate of Government Examinations Tamil Nadu (DGETN) decided not to declare the names of the toppers for the HSC Class 12 board exam, reports said soon after the results were declared. The decision was reportedly taken in order to discourage unhealthy competition.

The overall pass percentage stood at 91.3% pass this year. The pass percentage among girl students is 93.64% while it is 88.57% among boy students.

The best performing region was Tiruppur with 95.37% followed by Erode and Perambalur with 95.25% and 95.15% respectively.

The exams were conducted from March 1 to 19 with students facing tough Mathematics and Biology papers. “The results will be announced on April 19 at 9.30 am,” a senior official from the Directorate of Examinations said on Wednesday.

Accordingly, all the 8.61 lakh students who appeared for the exams, can view their results with analysis on www.tnresults.nic.in, www.dge1.tn.nic.in and ww.dge2.tn.nic.in. In addition, the authorities have also made arrangements to message (SMS) the results of the students to the parents/guardians.
