CHENNAI: Top BJP functionaries on behalf of BJP state chief Annamalai submitted a petition to DGP C Sylendra Babu seeking police protection and security after a petrol bomb was hurled at RSS functionary's house.
In the petition submitted, it has been requested to provide necessary security arrangements to leaders and functionaries of BJP, RSS and allied organisations. It also requested to arrest those involved in anti-national activities as a precautionary measure.
Petrol bomb were been hurled at BJP office on VKK Menon Road in Coimbatore on Thursday night, and at the residence of a RSS functionary in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Chitlapakkam in Chennai on Saturday.
Meanwhile, police on Thursday registered a case under SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act against arrested BJP district president Uthamaramasamy for making derogatory remarks against DMK MP A Raja.
