“Any regulation should not suppress a particular class of people and the people who protests claiming that they have been affected by the Act. So the government should reconsider their decision,” Thirunavukkarasar told reporters.

He urged both the Centre and state government to safeguard the citizens. When they doubt their safety, it is the duty of the government to clarify. “At the same time, regulations should not be formed based on one’s religion, region or language. There should be national integrity taken into consideration,” he added.

Pointing out that the curfew in Delhi was mere intelligence failure, Thirunavukkarasar also referred to the criticism of Rajinikanth against the Centre and suspected that the BJP had triggered the violence and the police which is under the control of Home Ministry should owe responsibility for the violence, he added.
