As soon as the farmers’ grievance meet commenced, all of them thanked Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami for the announcement and said that they have long been waiting for this announcement and it would move forward the agricultural activities in the Cauvery delta region. Subsequently, they distributed rose to District Collector Govinda Rao, who presided over the grievance meet.

They also distributed roses among themselves and said that the state government should initiate steps to withdraw the extraction activities already functioning.

They also urged the state government to put pressure on the Centre to initiate steps to enact a law on this.
