CHENNAI: Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, Tamilisai Soundararajan on Monday approved the subsidy of domestic cylinders in the Union Territory.
"Rs 300 will be given as subsidy for red card holders below the poverty line and Rs 150 per cylinder for yellow card holders above the poverty line, " said a Government Order issued by the Puducherry government.
The GO will come into effect after its publication in the Gazette and the subsidy amount will be paid into their respective bank accounts.
While the budget announcement made by the chief minister N Rangasamy said that Rs 300 will be given as a subsidy to all ration card holders, the amount has been reduced by half to Rs 150 for yellow cards.
The GO also informed us that this subsidy amount is not available for Honorary ration card holders.
