After Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, on Monday, thanked his Delhi counterpart, Arvind Kejriwal, for establishing Tamil Academy in Delhi, Kejriwal surprised everyone — especially those in Tamil Nadu — by tweeting in Tamil saying “unity in diversity is the pride of our country and it is our duty to protect it."

The Delhi government on Sunday opened the Tamil Academy to promote the language and culture. It was setup under the Department of Art, Culture and Language which is under Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia. Former municipal councillor and current member of Delhi Tamil Sangam N Raja has been appointed as the vice-chairman of the academy.

Palaniswami, in his tweet, thanked both Kejriwal and Sisodia for setting up the academy stating that it would spread the speciality and greatness of Tamil culture. Replying to the tweet, Kejriwal said "Vaazhga Tamil" (let Tamil language flourish).

Although Aam Admi party has not started its election work in Tamil Nadu for the upcoming Assembly election, the tweet went viral in social media.
