According to sources, P Senthil Kumar (40), a goldsmith involved in a small time jewel-making business at Bazaar Road, was residing at Sivan Street in Velipalayam in Nagapattinam along with wife Lakshmi (30) and Jagadeesh (11). Senthil Kumar reportedly suffered a loss in business and had repay around Rs 2 lakh borrowed from the neighbours for an interest. While they were unable to repay the borrowed money, his son Jagadeesh, who was studying in Class 6 in a private school, had to pay the school fee.
