Stone laid for development works worth Rs 230 crore

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami laid the foundation stone for various development works at a cost of over Rs 230 crore here.

The Chief Minister, who held a review meet on COVID-19 situation and progress of the Avinashi-Athikadavu water project, also laid the foundation stone through video conference for the third phase Pilloor drinking water and treatment plant project at a cost of Rs 166 crore.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated a public park set up on the banks of the Big Tank at Ukkadam at a cost of Rs 39.74 crore.

Other major projects include a Smart City lake developmental project at Valankum, a new building and quarters at Annur Tahsildar office, a building at Annamalai panchayat and another in north Pollachi panchayat union office.

The CM also inaugurated a scheme to provide a pack comprising ‘kabasura kudineer’, zinc tablets and vitamin tablets to ten lakh families.

The CM also held separate meetings with representatives of various industrial bodies and farmers associations, who highlighted their problems.

Those present on the occasion include Municipal Administration Minister SP Velumani, Deputy Speaker Pollachi V Jayaraman, MLAs Arunkumar, VC Arukutty, Ammal Arjunan, Kasturi Vasu, VP Kandasamy and Ettimadai Shanmugam and District Collector K Rajamani.
