Chennai: Special trains would be operated in Tamil Nadu to clear extra rush of passengers during Christmas and New Year, said a Southern Railway communique.

Train 06126 Mangaluru Junction – Dr MGR Chennai Central Express Special will leave Mangaluru Jn at 3.10 am on December 23 and 30 (Tuesdays) and reach Chennai Central at 11.30 pm the same day (two services).

In the return direction, Train 06125 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Mangaluru Jn Express Special will leave Dr MGR Chennai Central at 4.15 am on December 24 and 31 (Wednesdays) and reach Mangaluru Jn at 11.30 pm the same day (two services). Coach composition will be of 1 AC two-tier coach, 3 AC three-tier coaches, 15 sleeper class coaches, two second class coaches (disabled friendly)

Train 06025 Erode – Nagercoil Jn Express Special will leave Erode at 4 pm on December 23 and 30 (Tuesdays) and reach Nagercoil Jn at 1.15 pm the next day (two services).

In the return direction, Train 06026 Nagercoil Jn –Erode Express Special will leave Nagercoil Jn at 11 pm on December 24 and 31 (Wednesdays) and reach Erode at 8:30 pm the next day (two services). Coach composition will be of two AC chair coaches, 9 chair car coaches, 3 general class coaches, and 2 second class coaches (disabled friendly).

Train 07407 Secunderabad – Velankanni Express Special will leave Secunderabad at 7.25 pm on December 23 (Tuesday) and reach Velankanni at 5.30 pm the next day (one service).

In the return direction, Train 07408 Velankanni – Secunderabad Express Special will leave Velankanni at 8 am on December 25 (Thursday) and reach Secunderabad at 6.10 am the next day (one service).

Coach composition will be of 5 AC three-tier economy coaches, 9 AC three-tier coaches, 4 general second class coaches, one second class coach (disabled friendly) and one luggage-cum-brake van. Advance reservation is open for all trains, added the release.
