Sedition case on May 17 Movement leaders

S Police have registered a case of sedition against May 17 Movement coordinator Thirumurugan Gandhi and three others for staging a protest at Valluvar Kottam over the activist R S Mugilan missing case.

The case was registered against Gandhi, Periyasamy, Tyson and Arul Murugan for raising slogans and inflammatorily speech against the government. They were booked under the IPC Sections 153 (A) (1) (a) and (b) (by words, either spoken or written, or by signs or by visible representations or otherwise, promotes or attempts to promote, on grounds of religion, race, place) read with 505 (1) (b) (c) (inciting violence against army or navy or airforce personnel).


Meanwhile, following a complaint from Hindu Makkal Munnani founder coordinator V G Narayanan, North Beach police have registered another sedition case against Gandhi for allegedly making abusive remarks about Balakot attack by IAF.
