Section 144 in Pondicherry from Tuesday

For the upcoming Parliamentary elections, Section 144 is to be implemented in Pondicherry from Tuesday evening, March 16.

Pondicherry will face the parliamentary elections and the state assembly by-poll for the Thattanchavadi constituency on April 18. In this regard, it was reported the Election Commission has taken various steps to ensure 100 percent voting.

Meanwhile, with 2 days to go for the election, the election commission has ordered for a curfew under section 144 in Pondicherry till April 19.

State Electoral Officer Arun, said, "The Union Territory Pondicherry will come under Section 144 from evening 6pm of April 16 till 6am of April 19."
