Secret ballot likely in budget session: Ma Foi K Pandiarajan

Former minister and a senior leader in the O Panneerselvam group Ma Foi K Pandiarajan on Saturday hinted that a secret ballot over the motion of confidence would take place soon.

“It could happen during the budget session (of the Assembly next week),” he said. Pandiarajan, who was here to attend a private function, talking to media persons, expressed the hope that the Supreme Court would give a ruling in favour of his camp in the case pertaining to the floor test in the Tamil Nadu Assembly that was held on February 18 and won by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy amid chaos. 

Pandiarajan hoped that the SC would direct the Speaker to conduct a secret ballot on the motion of confidence just like the Patna High Court’s direction in Bihar a few years ago.
