Safeer Karim IPS who was held for cheating in Civil Service exam, dismissed

Safeer Karim, who was serving as assistant SP, Nanguneri, tried to answer questions in the General Studies paper using a ‘Bluetooth’ gadget with the help of his wife while appearing for the Civil Service main examination.

According to reports, Safeer Karim, who has been facing court trails was dismissed from his post for cheating in the Civil Service main examination.

A 2015 batch trainee IPS officer, Safeer Karim, who was serving as assistant SP, Nanguneri, tried to answer questions in the General Studies paper using a ‘Bluetooth’ gadget with the help of his wife while appearing for the Civil Service main examination to improve his rank and become an IAS officer.

He has been charged with IPC Section 420 (cheating), 120B (criminal conspiracy) along with Sections of IT Act. His wife was also cited as an accused in the FIR. The accused was allegedly found using a Bluetooth gadget to communicate with his wife in Hyderabad when he was writing the examination on Monday at the Presidency Girls’ Higher Secondary School in Egmore.

A native of Ernakulam in Kerala, Safeer had cleared civil services examination and was allotted to TN cadre in 2015 as IPS officer. Safeer was serving as a station in-charge and was under training in Nanguneri sub division in Tirunelveli district till July and later moved to Mussourie for further training. Police said that Safeer attended the civil service examinations to upgrade his all-India rank to get posted as an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer.
