Reports stating 43 doctors' death due to COVID-19 is baseless: Minister C Vijayabaskar

Tamil Nadu Health Minister Vijayabaskar told the reporters on Sunday that the reports claiming 43 doctors  death because of coronavirus was a baseless rumour. He further stated that the State President of IMA has denied the reports.

His statement comes following a tweet posted by DMK's Youth wing Secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin which showed that the number of deaths of doctors due to coronavirus in Tamil Nadu to be 43.

After the conference Vijayabaskar met the reporters and stated that Tamil Nadu is excelling in COVID-19 prevention works. He also stated that most number of COVID-19 tests are done in Tamil Nadu in India and assured tests will further increase.

The Health Minister also guaranteed that the government is upfront with respect to information regarding COVID-19.
